About The Role

We are looking for a highly organised Assistant Librarian to join our Creative Media department based in our Media & Technology Centre, Biggin Hill.

You will assist the Principal Librarian in the running of Formula 1’s video archive, with particular emphasis on ingesting footage, managing media and delivering research compilations.

The archive features over 150,000 hours of motorsport action, from1970 through to current day. Home to all of Formula 1’s iconic moments and featuring rare, behind the scenes footage of drivers like Jackie Stewart, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton, the archive is relied upon for both internal video production and third-party clients. There is an emphasis on the research and compilation of Formula 1 footage, so someone with thorough Formula 1 knowledge is required.

About You

 At least a year’s experience working in a footage library is essential.

You have:

  • Working knowledge of a Digital Archive (MAM).

  • Experience in Video File formats and television transmission standards.

  • Knowledge and understanding in editing and encoding software (Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder).
