About The Role
 
The Digital Technology and Delivery team are looking for a results focused Operations Digital Project Manager to hit the ground running, taking on a dynamic role supporting and leading a range of digital projects and 11 race weekends per year. You will be comfortable working at all stages of the life cycle in a complex outsource cross-functional multi-supplier delivery and able to work at pace a fairly new digital organisation in F1. You have the responsibility of managing operational projects including process improvement, managing any on-boarding of new suppliers and processes ensuring that we take our digital products and services to market to a high quality standard.

The environment is agile, fast paced & exciting, dealing with numerous in house teams, offshore team & high profile business projects. We are looking for an Operations Digital Project Managers who are used to managing multiple parallel projects and the adaption of a lean but structured project management approach.

Candidates will need to be disciplined thinkers, capable of working across organisational boundaries in the most demanding, high-output environments. Candidates will need outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy is essential.  Must be pro-active, very adaptable and results driven. You will be a team player who must be able to work under pressure, using own initiative and motivation to meet deadlines and set priorities without close supervision, above all a “can – do “attitude.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 
  • To support our live digital products for 7 to 11 race weekends a year from our operational centre in Biggin Hill Kent.
  • To drive strategic  business change throughout the company
  • To deliver changes/enhancements to digital products once digital products are live
  • Development of risk management strategies
  • To generate cost benefit analysis for any operations projects and make recommendations to the business
  • To work with Stakeholders (Product Owner) to refine and prioritise backlogs of requires features for Sprints
  • To ensure that non-functional requirements are gathered and planned for
  • To guard against vague or poor quality direction from stakeholders by encouraging and helping stakeholders think through details and implications.
  • Evaluate requirements and translate visions and commercial goals into executable plans
  • Resolve conflicting expectations and priorities
  • Arrange status updates for relevant stakeholders via daily-stand-ups etc – used as checkpoints for project progress
  • Engage experts such as architects and designers alongside developers and users
  • Manage the input of 3rd parties, and effectively impart understanding on them
  • Support in the set-up of a Digital PMO practice for the F1 Digital business 
About You

  Experience
  • At least 3 years Operational Digital Project Management experience including process improvement, supplier/system on-boarding and all round operational delivery
  • You are experienced in creating comms such as status, risks and issues, tailoring the updates for specific audiences and appropriately and managing these to successful closure
  • You will have planned, monitored and controlled projects and lead internal & external project teams and third parties through all phases of the product implementation lifecycle
  • You have substantial experience in managing stakeholders by creating effective trusted relationships
  • Experience of delivering projects in an agile environment.
  • Previously worked in Online/Digital/Media or Sports industries
  • Have worked in both big organisations and small companies or can handle a start-up environment
Knowledge and Skills
  • Good understanding of software development practices and web/mobile technologies in an operational environment
  • Experience in operational and process improvement background
  • Experience of on-boarding new suppliers and all the accompanying business processes
  • Anticipate information needs, identify gaps and organise data and communications cohesively and clearly
  • You are well versed in SCRUM and other Agile project management practices
  • Ability to communicate project progress to the project team, project sponsor and other stakeholders at appropriate intervals and exceptions.
  • Proficient in MS Project
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent people and stakeholder management abilities

  • Supporting 7 to 11 race weekends a year from our operational centre in Biggin Hill Kent
  • European and International travel involved
  • Will be required on an ad-hoc basis to work and travel to our operational centre in Biggin Hill Kent. Other London based suppliers
  • Be able to drive to Biggin Hill Kent to support race weekends
