About The Role
 The Research and Development Department are looking for a Programme Manager with demonstrable experience in managing and successfully delivering technical programmes with new partners to join their team on a permanent basis. 
 
The role will be based within the Research and Development function and requires a combination of high level and low level attributes i.e. introduction of best practice governance within a primarily agile environment, working closely with C-level stakeholders, but also someone technical enough to work with the architects and who has a high level understanding of technologies (AWS, Networking, Machine Learning, CRM, AI) and tools that the Tech teams are using to build the solutions. The role requires some to be able to communicate effectively at all levels, technical, business and commercial, and is process driven with strong people skills.

In addition to your track record for the above, professional project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 and MSP would be useful as well as any Agile/Scrum certifications, but experience is most important. Responsibilities

Finance/Procurement:
  • Managing and reporting on project budgets to ensure that the projects are delivered within budget and with transparent cost management. The effort around this will increase when projects have been approved and moved into implementation phases.
  • Controlling project spend by implementing access controls and caps on usage
  • Working with Finance and Procurement to track and organise spend, ensure invoicing is in alignment, plus organise SoW reviews and approvals.
Engagement:
  • Identifying AWS products and services that can be leveraged within the organisation via engagement with departments.
  • Producing costs for the end to end delivery of the projects and identifying budget savings to produce the incremental cost to F1, facilitating and driving the development of the business case.
Resource Management:
  • Gathering resource requirements across the programme and securing resources with department heads.
  • Identifying project resource requirements and managing those resources to deliver the project artefacts.
  • Forecasting resource requirements across the programme and prioritising delivery accordingly.
Planning and Governance:
  • Development of the Cloud Migration Framework and managing delivery following the framework and guidelines.
  • Producing project documentation as required.
  • Developing project plans and managing milestones to ensure that projects are delivered within the required timescales.
  • Managing project scope, tasks and deliverables to agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Identification and management of risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Directing and co-ordinating activities of project team members to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensuring project deliverables are produced to required levels of quality.
  • Tracking progress against expected benefits to ensure that those benefits are still achievable.
  • Preparing project status reports to keep management and stakeholders informed of project progress and related issues.
  • Co-ordinating and responding to requests for changes from original specifications.
  • Working closely with the business, key stakeholders, vendors and other members of the IT team.
  • Working with third party suppliers and managing supplier relationships to ensure delivery to contractual requirements.
  • Managing third party suppliers so they follow key governance criteria F1 has in place and to ensure they do not spend / utilise resource where it’s not required.
About You
 Relevant Experience 
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in managing Transition and Transformation programmes in a medium to large organisation.
  • Extensive experience in handling multi-million dollar programs up to $10M.
  • Strong experience in both Transition and Transformation specifically moving from on premise to cloud based architecture such as AWS.
  • Experience working with on-shore and off-shore delivery teams as well as managing large enterprise delivery teams such as Microsoft and Amazon
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and manage resources, in both a live and networked environment.
  • An ability to prioritise/organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to, and to successfully deliver under pressure, whilst displaying ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Financial analysis and evaluation of related initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, tools and techniques, evidenced through extensive practical experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills and expertise in managing programmes involving multi-disciplinary stakeholders/groups and the ability to deliver programme objectives within tight deadlines.
  • An ability to develop and sustain relationships with individuals at all levels in an organisation (both internal and external), including the ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience of developing business cases, programme reports, and giving presentations.
  • Leading and chairing Exec level Steering Groups with Directors and Exec Board Members

Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level
  • PRINCE2, MSP, PMI would be useful as well as any Agile/Scrum certifications

  • Will be required on an ad-hoc/occasional basis to work and travel to London and/or other locations
